Chronologically Controlled Developmental
Therapy

We design this program based on the developmental level of each client's individual function, that
means your program is tailored just for you!

Chronologically Controlled Developmental Therapy

CCDT was designed by Ed Snapp, PT, as a unique approach to the treatment of central nervous system injuries and
dysfunctions. When a
person experiences a traumatic or toxic injury, foundational sensory-motor information can be
erased or damaged, interfering with normal function.  The central nervous system then
regresses to earlier patterns of
prenatal function and posture that have typically been
recognized as spasticity and abnormal coordination.
By recreating specific developmental sensory factors, occurring naturally in the prenatal environment, the treatment focuses
on reinstating lost or not fully developed sensory motor function.  This is accomplished by "re-booting" the central nervous
system.

CCDT Explanation:

Every human individual develops from a single cell following a specific chronological order of development in a precise and
predictable sequence during the prenatal time period.  This order of development provides the background  "programming"
necessary for all futures function and learning.  It is portions of the developmental programming that are lost or inhibited by
physical, chemical or traumatic injury to the central nervous system.

The Central Nervous System Computer

Much like a computer, your central nervous system has an input system (sensory system), a basic operation system
(processing system), and an output system (response system).  All function is dependent upon the integration of these three
systems.

Also like a computer, the nervous system at times experiences problems in the communication between (sequences of
operation) the input and output systems, specifically in the processing system.  Many neurological disorders have great
similarities regarding postures, muscle tone, unique movement patterns, visual motor failures, difficulties speaking, among
other symptoms - which are primarily the result of communication failures within the nervous system's processing system.  Just
as a computer hard drive can be reformatted, you may also reboot the nervous system through CCDT therapy which is
designed to reinstate previously learned sensory motor programs.

When the central nervous system experiences physical or chemical trauma such as hypoxia, toxicity, severe allergic response
or closed head injury, it reacts very much like when a computer gets a virus which inhibits specific processes necessary for
basic function.  The trauma experienced will erase or interrupt portions of the programs or functions learned during the
developmental process.

Chronologically Controlled Developmental Therapy is designed to stimulate the nervous system to scan its circuits and define
its own errors.   It then retrieves the correct programming for the genetic code and reinstates reflex responses and basic
movement complexes that are necessary to enhance th normal sequence of neurological and physical maturation.

The prime modalities include:

Open flotation tank ,
Prenatal and neonatal sensory stimulation,
Prenatal sensory massage
Passive/active sensory motor movements based on prenatal and neonatal development.
Each modality is performed in a strictly controlled sequence.

Special sequences of environmental controls provide the relaxation, the stimulus and the focal enhancement to stimulate the
nervous system to define, and correct the body's own dysfunctions.

Our programs are designed to help retrieve and reprogram lost sensory motor information, which is in our genetic code.
